CSV Column Statistics Summarizer

Data

Paste CSV or TSV data and get per-column summary statistics: null and unique counts for every column, plus min/max/mean/median/standard deviation for numeric columns or the most common value for categorical ones

Paste CSV or TSV data with a header row and get a per-column breakdown: how many values are empty, how many are unique, and for a column where every non-empty value parses as a plain number, the min, max, mean, median, and standard deviation. A column with even one non-numeric value, like a name or city, is treated as categorical instead and shows its most frequent value and how many times it appears. This is a quick first look at a dataset before loading it into a spreadsheet or a real analysis tool, not a replacement for one: there is no support for grouping, filtering, or cross-column correlation.

How to use CSV Column Statistics Summarizer

  • 1.Paste CSV or TSV data with a header row, or try the sample data.
  • 2.Set the delimiter if your data isn't comma-separated, or uncheck the header option if the first row is already data.
  • 3.Read off each column's null/unique counts, and either its numeric stats or its most common value depending on whether every value in it is a plain number.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a numeric column?
A column where every non-empty cell parses as a plain decimal number (optionally negative, optionally with an exponent). A single non-numeric value, like a stray label or a currency symbol, drops the whole column to categorical instead of just ignoring that one cell.
How is the median computed for an even number of values?
As the average of the two middle values once sorted, the standard definition. For an odd count it's the single middle value.
Does this handle quoted fields with embedded commas?
Yes, double-quoted CSV fields (including ones with embedded delimiters or doubled-quote escaping) are parsed correctly, matching standard CSV quoting rules.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No, parsing and all statistics are computed entirely in your browser (or in your own process via the SDK/API), with nothing uploaded.
