Database Connection String Parser
CodeParse a database connection URI (postgres, mysql, mongodb, redis, amqp, and more) into its scheme, credentials, hosts, database, and query parameters
Paste a database connection URI like postgres://user:pass@host:5432/mydb and this splits it into its scheme, username, password, host and port, database name, and query parameters, so you can check at a glance which host or database an app is actually pointed at before you go digging through a dotenv file or a deploy config. It handles the mongodb-style comma-separated multi-host form used for replica sets, bracketed IPv6 hosts, and percent-encoded credentials. This is a pure, offline parse: it never attempts to connect to the database, resolve DNS, or confirm the scheme is a driver that actually exists, so it can tell you how a string decomposes but not whether the server behind it is reachable.
How to use Database Connection String Parser
- 1.Paste a full connection string, or pick one of the sample schemes to see the expected shape.
- 2.Read off the parsed scheme, user, password (hidden by default, click Show to reveal it), hosts, database, and query parameters.
- 3.Use it to quickly sanity-check a connection string from a config file or environment variable before debugging why an app can't reach its database.
